Florida Gulf Coast University has announced the hiring of Cassandra Goodson as the Men's and Women's Cross Country Head Coach. Goodson will fill the vacancy left by Chris Highfield, who served as head coach until he resigned in July.

After seven years with FGCU, Chris Highfield has resigned. Highfield has been with the men's basketball program and both cross country teams for each of their six seasons.

The FGCU womens cross country squad placed 5rth in the 2007 Sodexho Hatter Cross Country Invitational on Friday, October 12, 2007. 17 womens teams participated in the event with Xavier coming out on top.

Florida Gulf Coast University womens cross-country team finished 13th overall at the 5k Walt Disney World Sports Invitational on Saturday morning. The Eagles finished 13th of 41.

The FGCU women's Cross Country took first place in the Gulf Coast Cross Country Stampede on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles won with a team score of 27 easily outdistancing 2nd place West Florida.
