FORT, MYERS, Fla. – The Florida Gulf Coast University cross country coach Chris Highfield has released the 2007 men’s and women’s cross country schedule. Both teams will run the same schedule.
Entering their sixth season of competition, and first year as a member of NCAA Division I and the Atlantic Sun, FGCU will compete in six meets this season including the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships, which will be held at Percy Warner Park in Nashville and hosted by Belmont. That marks the only time that the Eagles will leave the state this year.
The Eagles will open the year at the Gator Invitational on September 7, in Gainesville. Last year, FGCU ran the event and finished 12th on the men’s side while the women finished 11th. FGCU will compete in two other events that they ran in last season. FGCU will also run in the Walt Disney World Classic on October 6, in Orlando and the Stetson Hatter Invitational on October 12.
The Eagles will also compete in the Florida State Invitational on September 22 and the West Florida Invitational on September 29.
