Women's Cross Country Placed 5th in Sodexho Hatter Cross Country Invitational

DELAND, Fla. - The FGCU women’s cross country squad placed 5th in the 2007 Sodexho Hatter Cross Country Invitational on Friday, October 12, 2007. 17 women’s teams participated in the event with Xavier coming out on top.
Xavier finished first (45 points), FIU was second (59 points), UCF was third (65 points), FAU was fourth (98 points), and FGCU finished fifth (149 points).
Individually, Florida International’s Paola Reategui finished first with a time of 18:15. A pair of Xavier runners finished close behind for second and third; Christina Schneider (18:21) and Becky Clark (18:29).
Leading the way for the Eagles third consecutive week was freshman Megan Theis. Theis placed 19th overall with a time of 19:44. Freshman Taylor Cooke finished just two seconds behind her personal best, finishing in 23rd place with a time of 19:53. Senior Cadie Sly (20:14) finished in 33rd place, that marked her second best finish this year. Freshman Angela Hegge (20:31), and sophomore Casey Hasten (20:47) rounded up the top five finishes for the Eagles.
The Eagles will travel to Nashville, Tennessee on October 27th for the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships.
