Cross Country Set to Host First Home Meet in Program History

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Florida Gulf Coast University cross country teams will do something tomorrow that they have never done before: host a meet. After traveling to various locations for the program’s first 50 meets over the course of seven plus seasons, the Eagles will finally get to experience a home meet.

For the meet, the University of Miami and St. Thomas University will be traveling to Fort Myers for the FGCU Cross Country Invitational. The men will be running a 5K starting at 5 PM, with the women to follow running a 2 mile course at 5:30 PM. The event will take place at Estero Community Park, and admission is free to the public. DIRECTIONS: Estero Community Park, 9200 Corkscrew Palms Blvd., Estero, FL, 33928

From the north (via I-75)

Take I-75 South to Exit 123, Corkscrew Road. Go west (right) on Corkscrew Road for 1.7 miles, past Three Oaks Parkway, past River Ranch Road. Estero Community Park will be on the left hand side (turn left at Corkscrew Palms Blvd.).

From the south (via I-75)

Take I-75 North to Exit 123, Corkscrew Road. Go west (left) on Corkscrew Road for 1.7 miles, past Three Oaks Parkway, past River Ranch Road. Estero Community Park will be on the left hand side (turn left at Corkscrew Palms Blvd.).
