The FGCU cross country program and head coach Cassandra Goodson have announced the date for its upcoming summer camp. This year’s camp will run from June 25th-29th on the campus of FGCU.

Continuing its offseason training regimen, the FGCU cross country teams are set to compete in five spring track meets, all of which will take place in the state of Florida.

Representing the FGCU women's team at the NCAA Division I Cross Country South Regional for the first time in program history, junior Barrie Cohen and sophomore Kelly Perzanowski traveled to Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Saturday to compete at the 6K event hosted by Alabama at the Harry Pritchett Cross Country Course.

Representing the Green and Blue for the first time at the Division I NCAA South Regional, FGCU men's cross country runners sophomore Argeo Cruz and redshirt classmate Gilbert Chemaoi, and women's runners junior Barrie Cohen and sophomore Kelly Perzanowski will travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Saturday. Hosted by Alabama, the men's 10K event will get underway at 10 a.m. with the women's 6K to follow at 11:15 a.m. from the Harry Pritchett Cross Country course.

Closing the fall season with a trip to the 2011 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship hosted by Belmont in Nashville, Tenn., the FGCU women's cross country team finished in seventh place in the 10-team 5K event on Saturday Morning.

The FGCU cross country teams will close the 2011 season with a trip to Nashville, Tenn. on Saturday to compete at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship, hosted by Belmont. The men's 8K race will begin at 11 a.m. ET followed by the women's 5K event at 11:45 a.m. on the Vaughn's Gap course.

With the Atlantic Sun Championship just a day away, fourth-year men’s and women’s cross country head coach Cassandra Harbin is this week’s guest on the latest “Eye on Eagles” feature by WINK-TV that will air during this Saturday’s morning broadcast. The interview will run sometime between 6-7 a.m.

In its final tune-up before the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship, the FGCU women's cross country team ran to a fourth place finish in the 16-team field at the UCF Black and Gold Challenge on Friday evening in Orlando, Fla. Junior Barrie Cohen led the Eagles through the 6K event, taking fifth place overall.

For the second straight weekend the FGCU cross country teams will travel to Orlando, Fla., this time competing at the UCF Black and Gold Challenge on Friday evening. In their final tune-up before the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship, the women's team will begin the 6K event at 6 p.m. with the men's 8K race to follow at 6:45 p.m.

Competing against 269 runners at the Disney World Cross Country Classic at the Wide World of Sports Complex last Saturday, FGCU women's cross country junior Barrie Cohen finished in seventh place at the 5K event. The effort earned FGCU its first-ever Atlantic Sun Conference Runner of the Week honor, announced by the league office on Wednesday.

On Saturday morning, the FGCU women’s cross country finished in 9th place in the field of 19-teams at the 23rd Annual UF Mountain Dew Invitational. Junior Barrie Cohen led the Eagles, placing 32nd overall.

The FGCU cross country teams will close the month of September with a trip Gainesville, Fla. to compete in the 23rd Annual UF Mountain Dew Invitational hosted by Florida on Saturday morning. The men’s 8k event will begin at 8 a.m., followed by the women’s 5k race at 8:30 a.m.

The Florida Gulf Coast University women’s cross country team competed in its second meet of the fall season at the Commodore Classic hosted by Vanderbilt on Saturday morning. Competing on the Vaughn’s Gap Course which will host the 2011 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship, the Eagles finished in 9th place in the field of 23, led by junior Barrie Cohen , who finished 36th in the 5km event.

Opening the 2011 season by hosting the second home event in program history, the FGCU women’s cross country team finished in second place overall at the FGCU Invitational at Buckingham Property on Friday evening. Junior Barrie Cohen and sophomore Kelly Perzanowski led the Eagles with fourth and fifth place finishes in the 5 km race.

The FGCU cross country teams are set to open the 2011 season this week as they host the FGCU Invitational on Friday, Sept. 2 beginning at 6 p.m. at Buckingham Property. It will mark the second time in program history that the Eagles have hosted an event, as well as, the first of six events for the fall season.

The FGCU women’s cross country team, which finished in a program-best sixth place at the 2010 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship, was predicted to repeat that finish in the 2011 preseason poll, as voted on by league coaches and announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
