FORT MYERS, Fla. – Traveling to Nashville, Tenn. for the second meet of the fall season, the FGCU Cross Country teams are set to compete at the Commodore Classic hosted by Vanderbilt this weekend. The women's team begins the 5km event at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Running on the Vaughn’s Gap Course, the weekend event will provide an opportunity for the Eagles to preview the location of the 2011 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship in late October.

The Eagles will take to the course with 25 other programs, including Alabama, Alabama A&M, Belmont, Chattanooga, Cincinnati, Jacksonville St., Lipscomb, Marshall, Memphis, Middle Tennessee St., Tennessee St., Tennessee-Martin and host Vanderbilt.

FGCU opened the fall season with a strong showing at the FGCU Invitational. Marking just the second home event in program history, the women’s team ran to a second place finish in the four-team event which included FAU, FIU and Miami.
