NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Closing the fall season with a trip to the 2011 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship hosted by Belmont in Nashville, Tenn., the FGCU women’s cross country team finished in seventh place in the 10-team 5K event on Saturday Morning.

“I think the women did well today and gave a really solid effort,” said fourth-year head coach Cassandra Harbin. “Due to some injuries, we were missing some important piece to our team and given the circumstances I was happy with the women’s result.”

Finishing with a team score of 193, the Eagles positioned themselves in seventh place overall. With three runners in the top 10 and six in the top 20, Lipscomb ran to the team title with a combined score of 53.

For the sixth straight event this season junior Barrie Cohen (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional HS) led the Eagles. The Voorhees, N.J. product finished 24th in the field of 78 conference runners with a time of 18:44.40.
