Day Two at Pat Bradley Invitational Concludes for Women's Golf

FORT MYERS, Fla. – With two rounds complete at the 33rd annual Pat Bradley Invitational, the FGCU women’s golf team improved their overall team score but moved into eighth place on the 15-team leaderboard. Sophomore Briana Carlson (Inverness, Fla./Citrus HS) continues to lead the Blue and Green, sitting in a share of fourth place overall.

In Sunday’s opening round, the five-member Eagle squad combined for a score of 308 and made a six-stroke improvement with a 302 on Monday, for a two-day total of 610. Although the Blue and Green improved upon their team score, they bumped down into eighth place after holding the seventh position following day one. FGCU sits just one-stroke back of Stetson’s 609 (311-298) and holds a three-stroke lead over FAU (312-301/613).

Western Michigan led the field heading into the second round but now sits in third place with a 594 (291-303), while North Texas (294-294/588) claims the top spot heading into Tuesday’s final round.

Among the 81 individuals, Carlson ranks second in par 3 scoring (-2) and birdies (7), while she is also one of the top performers par 4 scoring (even). The sophomore is currently in a four-way tie for fourth overall, following Sunday’s even-par 72 and a second round one-over par 73 (145).

Senior Lina Elmsater (Stockholm, Sweden/Pfeiffer University) is tied for 29th overall, as her second round 78 brought her tournament total to 154 (76-78/154). The business management major ranks in par 3 scoring (+1), par 5 scoring (even) and total pars (26).

Junior transfer Fabienne Haremza’s (Wildermen, South Africa/Glenwood House/Lamar University) score of 77 is a one-stroke improvement from day one, for a total of 155 (78-77) heading into the final round. Also, freshman Megan Van Etten (Trinity, Fla./J.W. Mitchell HS) made an eight-stroke improvement (74) on her round one score for a combined 156 (82-74). Harmeza and Van Etten have each matched Elmsater’s 26 pars and are holding a share of 36th and 44th, respectively.

The final round of the 33rd annual Pat Bradley Invitational at Pelican Preserve Country Club is set to tee-off with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday. Tournament scoring is available on the GolfStat website, or by CLICKING HERE.
