FORT MYERS, Fla. – The FGCU women’s golf program has announced the signing of Georgia Price (Fort Myers, Fla./Fort Myers HS) and Kristin Swindell (Bradenton, Fla./Braden River HS) to National Letters of Intent for the 2011-12 season.

"With the additions of Kristin Swindell and Georgia Price, FGCU is building upon an already strong roster for this upcoming season,” said FGCU head women’s golf coach Meghan Spero. “Both players have the ability to go low, are passionate about the game, and are extremely hard workers on and off the course. There is no doubt that the 2011-12 season will be another successful and exciting year in the history of FGCU women's golf!"

Competing at Fort Myers High School, Price won the Lee County Athletic Conference Tournament, finished second in District 2A-15 and was the medalist in eight of Fort Myers’ 10 regular season matches, while averaging 37 for her nine-hole rounds this season. Additionally, Price was named The News-Press All Area Girls Golfer of the Year for the second consecutive season.

Choosing FGCU over Mercer, Western Carolina, Florida State and Stetson because of its Professional Golf Management Program, Swindell won the Class 2A Region 5 tournament with a 5-under 67 and went on to finish 13th at the Class 2A state finals with a 79-77/156.

The FGCU women’s golf team will tee off its 2011 championship season by heading to Jacksonville, Fla. for the JU Classic on February 5-8.
