Sophomore Georgia Price (Winchester, England/Fort Myers HS) and redshirt freshman Kristin Swindell (Bradenton, Fla./Braden River HS) of the FGCU women’s golf team have both received post season honors from the Atlantic Sun Conference, the league announced Monday. Price was named to the All-Conference second team squad while Swindell was a member of the All-Freshman team.

As the spring season winds down, the FGCU women’s golf team is gearing up for the 2013 Atlantic Sun Championship. Making their fifth trip to the conference event, the Eagles will have their sights set on the program’s first-ever championship as play opens on Monday morning at the Jekyll Island Golf Club in Jekyll Island, Ga.

Sophomore Chelsea Guoynes (Traverse City, Mich./Traverse City Central HS) finished in a tie for 13th while helping the Eagles to a seventh-place finish at the 2013 UC Spring Invitational (Mar. 22-24) to earn A-Sun Women's Golfer of the Week honors, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Due to severe weather, the final round at the 2013 UC Spring Invitational at the Plantation Inn Golf Resort and Spa was cancelled and the round two results will stand as the final results. The FGCU women’s golf team finishes in a tie for 7th place in the 17-team field. The Eagles moved back to seventh after being in a tie for 5th place after day one.
