ST. PAUL, Minn. -- During a break from collegiate competition, FGCU women's golfer Sara Detlefsen (Eagan, Minn./Minnesota Virtual Academy High School) returned to Minnesota for the 2014 Minnesota Women’s State Open where she placed fourth in a field of over 50 professional and amateur golfers.

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- FGCU women's golf head coach Sarah Trew recently announced the addition of freshman Ashley Kimbrough to the roster for the 2014-15 season. Kimbrough joins previous signees Gabrielle Brackrog (Highland, Mich./Milford High School) and Madison Easterbrook (Burlington, Ontario/Aldershot High School) to encompass the freshmen class.

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- After seeing an unprecedented six members of the team earn Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar accolades, the FGCU women's golf team was named the fourth-ranked team among the WGCA Academic Top-25, as announced by the organization last week.

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- Six members of the FGCU women's golf team earned Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar accolades, as announced by the organization on Wednesday. The criteria for selection ranks as one of the most stringent in all of college athletics, with each award recipient earning a 3.50 cumulative grade point average or higher.

MACON, Ga. -- After leading the team to a fourth-place finish at the 2014 Atlantic Sun Championship, senior Briana Carlson earned All-Conference Second Team honors, as announced by the conference on Wednesday.

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. -- Despite grueling weather conditions at the Jekyll Island Golf Club, the FGCU women's golf team finished strong and compiled its best score of the 2014 Atlantic Sun Championship to earn fourth place in the event. The Eagles concluded the tournament with team scores of 314 in the second round and 299 in the third round to finish tied for fourth in the field of 10 teams.

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – The second round of the Atlantic Sun Championship Tournament was halted due to severe weather Tuesday afternoon. With each player finishing no more than eight holes on the day, the FGCU women’s golf team sits at plus-3 for the second round and holds a fourth-place ranking in the field of 10 teams.

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. -- Through the first of three rounds of the Atlantic Sun Championship Tournament, the FGCU women's golf team holds eighth place in the field of ten teams with a team score of 308. The Eagles sit just one stroke out of a tie for sixth place and two strokes out of the top five.

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. -- The FGCU women's golf team will begin play at the 25th Atlantic Sun Women's Golf Championship Monday, April 14 at the Pines Lakes Course at the Jekyll Island Golf Club. The tournament will consist of three rounds, with one played each day Monday through Wednesday. The teams will tee off at 8 a.m. each day.

The FGCU Department of Athletics has become just the third school in the nation to partner with Australian-based calendar communication company ECAL to provide Eagles fans the ability to easily input every FGCU sporting event into their personal calendar on their favorite electronic device.
