FGCU women's golf team captures Spring Lake Invitational
Sebring, FL - The FGCU women’s golf team won the Fifth Annual Spring Lake Intercollegiate Women’s Golf Tournament today by one stroke over Nova Southeastern.
The Eagles fired a 313 yesterday as they took a five-shot lead into today’s final round, but Nova Southeastern fired a 310 to come back and test the Lady Eagles golf team.
FGCU held on as they shot a 314 in the final round.
Adrian Secrest, who had a 2-over-par 74 yesterday, fired a 9-over-par 81 today, which was good for fourth place.
Holley Eaton improved on her 82 from yesterday, and shot a 4-over-par 76 in today’s round to finish tied for sixth with three others.
Sarah Pesavento tied Eaton as she shot an 80 yesterday, and a 77 today to clinch the tourney championship.
Heather Mize and Brittany Bertilson both finished with a 160 total to round out the Eagle scores.
The Eagles will play in the Stetson Hatter Spring Fling March 23-25 in their next event.
