Eagle Women Ranked 6th In Regional Poll
FORT MYERS, FLA. – The NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Committee has released this week’s Division II women’s golf regional poll. In the South Region the Eagles are ranked 6th while Rollins leads the rankings as ranked first in the region.
The Eagles best finish this year as a team was on their home course at Miromar Lakes Golf Club in Fort Myers, Fla. The FGCU Invitational was earlier in the fall, and the Eagles finished in second place with a two day total of 623. The Eagles earned their season best two day score at the Northern Illinois University Spring Invite held in Sebring, Florida. The Eagles finished fifth out of 18 teams with a final score of 604.
Individually the team has been lead by two Eagle standouts, senior Brittany Bertilson (Austin, MN) and sophomore Heather Hagerman (New Port Richey, FL). Both Bertilson and Hagerman have a season best two round record of 144 where they both finished 2nd. Hagerman finished 2nd in the UCF Spring Invitational and Bertilson took 2nd in the Northern Illinois University Spring Invite. In their last regular season match-up, both Hagerman and Bertilson finished with a two day 160 final to tie for 14th place in the Nova Southeastern Invitational in Miami, Florida. These two players have been head to head all season and look for them to compete in regionals as strong contenders.
