Fort Myers, Fla. - At the 30th annual Pat Bradley Women’s Golf Championship hosted by Florida International, the FGCU women's golf squad finished in tenth place.
The participating schools were Bradley, Daytona Beach Community College, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida International, Memphis, Middle Tennessee State, South Florida, Southern Illinois and Texas Tech.
The 54-hole event was played at the Pelican Preserve G.C. The teams played 36 holes on Monday (Oct. 29) and a final 18 on Tuesday (Oct. 30).
The Eagles recorded a composite team score of 954 during the tournament’s 54 holes. South Florida took the team tourney title with an 896, 12 strokes ahead of second place.
Heather Hagerman was the Eagles' top finisher in the two-day event turning in a one-under 220 (+4) which placed her in fifth-place overall. Her low round of the tournament was a 72 that she scored in the first 18 holes of the tourney.
Kastania Toomalatai came in second on FGCU's scorecard with a three-round total of 242 (+26) which tied him for 45th individually. Toomalatai’s best round was a 79, which she shot in Tuesday’s round.
Middle Tennessee’s Taryn Durham sank a four-foot putt for par on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff to come away with medalist honors at the 30th annual Pat Bradley Women’s Golf Championship.
Durham and South Florida’s Kylene Pulley finished 54 holes of regulation with identical 2-under 214 scores, setting up the playoff on the 380-yard, par four first hole. After hitting the front of the green with her approach shot, Durhan 20-yard attempt at birdie fell short. Pulley, whose third shot from the left rough landed about six-feet behind the hole, missed slight left at her attempt for par, which set up Durham’s winning shot.
The Women's golf squad will wrap up its fall schedule on Nov. 5 by competing in the Stetson Invitational in DeLand, Fla.
