Women's Golf Finishes Second at Eagles Golf Invitational

MIROMAR LAKES, Fla. – The FGCU women’s golf team concluded the first tournament of the season with a second place finish at the Eagles Golf Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at the Miromar Lakes Golf Club. Freshman Briana Carlson finished the tournament atop the leaderboard with a three round score of 223 (72-74-77).

The Eagles earned the second place finish with a team score of 944 (314-321-309) to complete the final round. Florida Atlantic led all teams with a three round score of 941 (320-309-312).

Also placing in the top 10, FGCU Junior Lina Elmsater (Solna, Sweden) tied for seventh with a tournament score of 237 (78-81-78).

The FGCU women’s golf team will tee up again on Sunday, October 4th when they head to Bradenton, Fla. for the USF-Waterlefe Invitational.
