BRADENTON, Fla. – The FGCU women’s golf team completed the final round of the USF-Waterlefe Invitational tournament in Bradenton, Fla. on Tuesday afternoon. The Eagles were able to move into tenth place on the final day after sitting in 13th through the opening two rounds.
As a team, the Eagles took tenth place out of 17 teams with a score of 936 (326-308-312). The competition included University of Alabama-Birmingham, Troy University, University of South Alabama, Nova Southeastern University, Stetson University, Daytona State College, Campbell University, Florida Atlantic University, McNeese State, Southern Mississippi, Arkansas State University, University of Montana, Charleston Southern University, and the University of South Florida.
Nova Southeastern University earned first place honors with a team score of 877 (299-290-288).
Junior Lina Elmsater (Solna, Sweden) was the top scoring Eagle, placing 11th overall with a three-round score of 223 (76-74-73).
The FGCU women’s golf team will hit the fairway again on Monday, October 19th as they travel to the Wendy’s Invitational in Charleston, S.C.
