Women's Golf Heads to Wendy's Invitational Tournament

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The FGCU women’s golf team will travel to their third tournament of the season as they head to Charleston, S.C. for the Wendy’s Invitational tournament. The opening round is scheduled to begin Monday at 7:45 a.m.

The Eagles will be competing against Coastal Carolina University, Presbyterian College, High Point University, Winthrop University, College of Charleston, The Citadel, University of Memphis, University of Alabama-Birmingham, South Carolina State University, Armstrong Atlantic State University, Carson-Newman College, and Methodist University.

The FGCU women’s golf team is coming off a 10th place finish at the USF-Waterlefe Invitational Tournament where Junior Lina Elmsater (Solna, Sweden) placed 11th out of 87 individuals.

The Wendy’s Invitational Tournament will take place at the Coosaw Creek Country Club, which has long been regarded as one of the finest courses in the Charleston area. The course has been honored as a “Must Play” course by Golf Magazine and a “Four Star Course” by Golf Digest.
