Wendy's Invitational Underway for Women's Golf

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Florida Gulf Coast University women’s golf team opened play at the Wendy’s Invitational Tournament on Monday morning at the Coosaw Creek Country Club in Charleston, S.C. Freshman Briana Carlson is leading the Eagles after the first round and is tied for ninth place overall.

At the end of the first round, the Eagles are in eighth place with a team score of 321. Carlson (Inverness, Fla.) shot a 76 on the first day of the tournament.

Leading the 15 team field are the Cougars of the College of Charleston with an opening round shot total of 298.

The 36-hole tournament will conclude on Tuesday with the final round starting at 7:45 a.m.
