Women's Golf in Sixth Place Following Opening Round at Pat Bradley Invite

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Led by seniorFabienne Haremza’s (Wildermen, South Africa/Glenwood House/Lamar University) opening round even-par 72 on Sunday morning, the FGCU women’s golf team sits in a two-way share for sixth place on the 15-team leaderboard at the 34th Annual Pat Bradley Invitational, hosted by FIU, at the Pelican Preserve Golf Club in Fort Myers, Fla.

Entering Monday’s second round, Haremza sits in a two-way tie for first place on the 80-player leaderboard alongside Eastern Michigan’s Meredith Fairbairn.

The Eagles concluded the tournament’s opening round with a team score of 311, to sit in a share for sixth place with Bradley. The Green and Blue are six strokes back of fifth place Stetson (305) and 11 back of day one leader Boston College (300).

FGCU’s trio of freshmen also contributed to the team scoring in the opening round. Georgia Price (Winchester, England/Fort Myers HS) cracked the top 20 with score of 77 to place her in a tie for 20th overall, two shots ahead of classmate Kristin Swindell’s (Bradenton, Fla./Braden River HS) 79, which was good for a split of 38th. With an opening-round 83, Chelsea Guoynes (Traverse City, Mich./Traverse City Central HS) finished the first round in a tie for 62nd.

Junior Cassie Cleary (Punta Gorda, Fla./Charlotte HS/Daytona State College) opened the event with a score of 85, to sit in a share of 66th heading into the second round of play.

The Eagles will return to the course for Monday’s second round beginning at 9 a.m. Results and recaps from each round of play will be available at www.FGCUAthletics.com at the conclusion of each day.
