Women’s Golf Finishes Day Two at UC Spring Invitational

CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. – One round remains at the UC Spring Invitational at the Plantation Golf Resort in Crystal River, Fla. and the FGCU women’s golf team sits 17th on the team leaderboard. Freshman Georgia Price (Winchester, England/Fort Myers HS) leads the Eagles into the final round, holding a share of 32nd overall.

Sitting in 11th following an opening round 313, the Eagles combined for a score of 330 in the second round of play to move their two-day total to 643 and place them 17th overall. Leading the field entering the day, FIU continues to sit atop the 19-team leaderboard with a score of 290-294/584.

Supplying back-to-back rounds in the 70s, Price opened the event with a 77 and followed with a 79 on Saturday to bring her two-round score to 156 to sit in a share of 32nd among the 102 participants. Price ranks among the tournament leaders in par 3 scoring at one-over par.

Opening the event with a 78, sophomore Megan Van Etten (Trinity, Fla./J.W. Mitchell HS) shot an 82 in the second round to move into a share of 51st with a score of 160. Leading the Eagles through the first round of play with a 76, freshman Chelsea Guoynes (Traverse City, Mich./Traverse City Central HS) followed with an 86 and now holds a scorecard of 76-86/162 to place in a tie for 60th. Senior Fabienne Haremza (Wilderman, South Africa/Glenwood House/Lamar University) rounded out the scoring for the Green and Blue with a 82-83/165 for a split of 74th.

Sitting atop the leaderboard entering the day, FIU’s Shelby Coyle continues to lead the field with a score of 69-72/141.

The final round of the UC Spring Invitational will get underway with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday morning at the Plantation Golf Resort. Results and recaps from the tournament will be available at www.FGCUAthletics.com.
