JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Heading into the final round of play at the Marsh Landing Intercollegiate, hosted by Jacksonville, at the Marsh Landing Country Club in Jacksonville, Fla., the FGCU women’s golf team sits in a share of sixth place overall, while three Eagles sit in a tie for 21st on the individual leaderboard.
The Green and Blue began the tournament with an opening round score of 315, and improved by two strokes (313) in the day’s second round of play to move into a tie for sixth with a score of 628, alongside Brown University (311-317/628). Stetson leads the 10-team field into Tuesday’s final round of play with a score of 290-292/582.
Three Eagles provided scores of 155 through the opening two rounds to sit in a tie for 21st overall. Each opening with rounds of 77, senior Fabienne Haremza (Wilderman, South Africa/Glenwood House/Lamar University) and freshman Chelsea Guoynes (Traverse City, Mich./Traverse City Central HS) followed with scores of 78 in the day’s second round, while freshman Georgia Price (Winchester, England/Fort Myers HS) opened with a 78 and finished with a round of 77.
Sophomore Megan Van Etten (Trinity, Fla./J.W. Mitchell HS) supplied a score of 83-80/163 to round out the scoring for Eagles, sitting in a share of 42nd place.
Stetson’s Alex Buelow leads the 54-player field into the final round of play with a score of 71-69/140.
