FORT MYERS, Fla. – The FGCU women’s golf team will return to the course on Sunday morning, March 17th, as the Ocala Spring Invitational, hosted by Moorehead State University, begins at the Julliette Falls Golf Club in Ocala, Fla. The three-day tournament gets underway on Sunday morning and will conclude with a final round on Tuesday.

“This weekend will be a test of endurance.  We play 2 events pretty much back to back with only one day in between,” said head coach Sarah Trew.  “This event is new to our schedule, but we do have a couple of team members who have competed on this course before.  They will be instrumental in helping us determine how to prepare and attack the course.  We have been focusing a lot lately on our mental game and I think we will be successful if we go in with the goal of committing 100% to each shot and having fun playing the game.”

The 14-team field includes Akron, Appalachian State, Daytona State, FAU, Mercer, McNeese State, Morehead State, Ohio, Rutgers, Stetson, Toledo, Western Carolina and Western Kentucky.

The Eagles are coming off a tie for 15th place finish at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Invitational which saw sophomore Georgia Price (Winchester, England/Fort Myers HS) led the squad finishing in a tie for 41st place with a total score of 233.
