Coming off defending their regular season and tournament A-Sun titles, Jim Blankenship, this year’s Atlantic Sun Coach of the Year, and the FGCU women’s soccer staff would like to open registration for their annual Spring ID Clinic at the FGCU Soccer Complex on Saturday, March 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Freshman Ally Kasun (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield HS) of the FGCU women’s soccer team has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Southeast Region Second Team.

TopDrawerSoccer.com released its list of Atlantic Sun Conference Postseason Top 20 Players. The FGCU women’s soccer team landed a league-best five players on the list, led by redshirt senior defender Ashley Ciesielczyk (Oregon, Ohio/Clay HS), who came in at No. 2 overall.

After winning is second-straight Atlantic Sun Tournament Championship last weekend, the FGCU women’s soccer team (13-3-3, 7-1-1 A-Sun) will take on No. 10 Florida (17-4-1, 11-2 SEC) in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, Friday at 3 p.m. at the James G. Pressly Stadium. This is the second-straight year the Eagles have been matched up with the Gators in the opening round.

FORT MYERS, Fla. – One day after capturing its second-straight Atlantic Sun Conference Championship, the FGCU women’s soccer team (14-3-3, 7-1-1 A-Sun) learned of its first round destination Monday night at the Naples Flatbread restaurant at the Miromar Outlets. FGCU will face SEC Champion Florida (17-4-1, 11-2-0 SEC) on Friday at 3 p.m. in the opening round at James G. Pressly Stadium in Gainesville, Fla.
