Stephanie Powers enters her first season on the FGCU women’s soccer coaching staff as a volunteer assistant.

Returning to her alma mater following a four-year playing career, Powers joins the coaching staff as one of the most decorated players in FGCU women’s soccer history. Powers graduated as the program’s all-time leader in saves (261), save percentage (.835), goals against average (0.71), wins (42) and shutouts (31). She also ranked fourth in games played (72) and games started (68), while third in minutes played (6234). Additionally, Powers topped the A-Sun record books with 31 career shutouts and also ranked third in goals against average at 0.71.

Guiding the Eagles to back-to-back A-Sun regular season championships and the program’s first A-Sun Tournament title and NCAA tournament berth, Powers was named the 2011 Atlantic Sun Defensive Player of the Year and earned her second straight A-Sun All-Conference first team selection (2010, 2011). Following her sophomore campaign, Powers earned an A-Sun All-Conference second team pick in 2009, building on the A-Sun All-Freshmen team honor in 2008. Furthermore, the netminder was a two-time A-Sun All-Academic honoree and a five-time A-Sun Defensive Player of the Week selection.

Powers is originally from Seffner, Fla. and was a 2008 graduate of Armwood High School.
