Women's Soccer Receive Votes in the NSCAA/adidas Southeast Regional Rankings

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU women’s soccer team received votes in this week's NSCAA/adidas Southeast Regional Rankings the NSCAA announced on Tuesday.
This is the first time that the Eagles have earned votes in the NSCAA/adidas Southeast Regional Rankings.
"It is an honor to be mentioned in the same release with the best teams in college soccer," said Head Coach Jim Blankenship. "Our team is playing very well right now and deserves the recognition. We need to keep the momentum going as we continue conference play this weekend."
FGCU has a 7-3-1 overall record, including winning seven of their last eight games. Senior midfielder Amber McCall (Fort Myers, Fla.) leads the team with four goals, and is tied for the league lead with three game winners. Stephanie Powers (Seffner, Fla.) anchors the Eagles defense with her A-Sun leading five shutouts. Powers has a 6-3-1 record, and also leads the A-Sun in goals against average (0.78) and save percentage (.830).
