FORT MYERS, Fla. - FGCU head women’s soccer coach Jim Blankenship has announced the dates for his 2012 Eagles Soccer Camps. Blankenship and his staff will hold their Jr. Elite Camp (June 18-21), Day Camp (June 18-22) and Elite Camp (July 19-22) at the FGCU Soccer Complex.

Jr. Elite Camp
June 18 – 21 Ages: 10-13
Cost: $525.00 - Overnight Campers
$425.00 - Day Campers 9 AM - 8 PM ($100.00 Deposit required w/application)

Objective: To focus mainly on the technical education and development of players age 10-13 with tactical ideas being introduced as well. To get young players to the next level as they prepare for all of their future successes in the game.

Day Camp
June 18-22 Ages: 6-14
Cost: $225.00 - Full Day (9 AM - 3 PM) $100.00
Half Day - (9 AM - 11 AM) ($100.00 Deposit required w/application)

Objective: Designed for players wanting to learn the fundamental skills of soccer. Individual instruction emphasizes the use of correct techniques.

Elite Camp
July 19 – 22 Ages: 13-18
Cost: $525.00 - Overnight Campers $425.00 -
Day Campers 9 AM - 8 PM ($100.00 Deposit required w/application)

Objective: Designed to improve the skill level and tactical understanding of players age 13-18. Practice sessions will be intense and very competitive to challenge at every level of the player's ability. This camp is also staffed exclusively with NCAA Division I & II collegiate coaches!

Blankenship guided FGCU to its first ever Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament Championship and university’s first ever the NCAA Tournament appearance in 2011. On the strength of the program’s best record to date, 14-5-2 overall record and 7-1-1 A-Sun mark, the Green & Blue also claimed their second straight regular season title. FGCU recorded 12 shutouts during their 2011 campaign and allowed only one goal in conference play during the regular season. Under Blankenship’s tutelage at FGCU, nine Eagles were named to A-Sun All-Conference teams in 2011, including the conference defensive player of the year, five first-team selections, two second-team selections, and two all-freshman honorees.
