Women's Soccer to Hold Walk-on Tryouts

Fort Myers, Fla. – The Florida Gulf Coast University women's soccer team will hold walk-on tryouts to fill roster spots for the upcoming 2007 season.

The tryouts will be held on Saturday, August 25 at 9 am and Sunday, August 26 at 9 am on the FGCU soccer field. Interested students should completely fill out the Tryout Packet and bring it with them to the field on the day of the tryout. Interested students can also contact Assistant Coach Sarah Rahko by email at srahko@fgcu.edu if they have any questions.

Also, in order to try out for the FGCU women's soccer team, potential student athletes must have their NCAA Clearinghouse paperwork completed. This can be done by clicking HERE

The Eagles are preparing to compete in the inaugural season for the women’s soccer program. Head Coach Jim Blankenship was selected as the first-ever women’s soccer head coach at Florida Gulf Coast University. Blankenship’s teams have won three national championships, appeared in eight straight final fours, received two NCAA Division I national tournament bids and graduated over 40 all-Americans and 18 academic all-Americans. His collegiate head coaching record stands at 241-70-9.
