WASHINGTON, D.C. – Four goals from three different players gave the Eagles women soccer team (4-0) a 4-1 win over Howard (0-3) Sunday afternoon at Greene Stadium. Sophomore Amber McCall had a pair of goals for her second straight match.

Briana Gamble scored the only goal for the Lady Bison in the first half at 13:32 on an assist from Natalie Williston.

The Eagles first two goals came from sophomore Amber McCall (Fort Myers, Fla.). The ball was deep in the Bison half when freshman Lindsay Haw (Palm City, Fla.) sent a cross from the right wing to find McCall at 25:42. Freshman Jessica Belmonte’s (Darien, Ill.) free kick found McCall unmarked in the box and she sent a header to give the Eagles the lead 2-1 in the 58th minute. The goal scored in the 58th minute by McCall marked the first time in FGCU history that a player has scored twice in a match for the second straight match.

The Eagles would add to their lead in the 76th minute when freshman Kelli Haemmelmann (St.Petersburg, Fla.) sent a beautiful pass down the right wing that found freshman Kelly Sheriff (Coral Springs, Fla.) for her first score of the season.

Freshman Amanda Suchko (Greensburg, Pa.) also scored her first goal as an Eagle. She received the cross from Sheriff and found the center of the goal at 80:15 to finish off the Eagles scoring for the afternoon.

Next up, the Eagles will be back in Fort Myers, Fla. for a three-match home stand when they play host to St. Thomas on Friday, Sept. 14 at 7:00 p.m.
