FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Florida Gulf Coast University women’s soccer team paid a visit The Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida at HealthPark this past week. The Eagles brought party snacks, and arts and crafts for the young patients.

Florida Gulf Coast University faculty and student-athletes seek to be strong community partners and role models for today’s youth. By paying a visit to the patients at The Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida, the Women’s Soccer Team seeks to strengthen this commitment.

“The children of our local community are a passion of ours,” said head coach Jim Blankenship. “We recognize the positive influence our student-athletes can have in these young children’s lives. We seek to play an important role in helping our community’s children set obtainable goals to reach their dreams.”

The Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida, in partnership with the community and physicians, are dedicated to developing the best, specialized pediatric care right here, close to home. The type and scope of that care will be based upon the needs of each individual family in the growing population of children and adolescents in the five counties that make up Southwest Florida.
