BOCA RATON, Fla. - Following a 0-0 draw after playing two 30 minute halves, the FGCU women’s soccer team combined to score on five of six shootout attempts and went on to defeat FAU on penalty kicks, 5-4, at the FAU Soccer Stadium in the final tune-up before the regular season.
“I’m pleased with out performance today,” said head coach Jim Blankenship. “We played much better defensively and connected our passes. We’ve had a good preseason with a pair of games against quality opponents so we should have some confidence going into the start of the season.”
