Weekly honors continue to roll in for Tabby Tindell as she has been chosen as an honorable mention pick to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week. Tindell put two goals on the board on Sunday afternoon to guide the Eagles (1-0) to a 2-1 victory over Pac-12 foe Arizona (1-1) in its season opener. The Team of the Week recognizes the top performances of players nationwide.

The first Atlantic Sun Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the 2014 season is FGCU's Tabby Tindell, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon. Tindell, who turned 19 years old on Monday (Aug. 25), put two goals on the board on Sunday afternoon to guide the Eagles (1-0) to a 2-1 victory over Pac-12 foe Arizona (1-1) in its season opener. Adding to last season’s total, the sophomore has now been named A-Sun Player of the Week four times.

The start of the 2014 FGCU women's soccer season has been delayed as a result of inclement weather and will now have to wait until Sunday to get underway. The game with nationally ranked UCF will be postponed and will be rescheduled if both teams mutually agree on a date later this season.

The FGCU women's soccer team has been selected by the coaches of the Atlantic Sun to earn a fifth-consecutive regular season championship when the Preseason All-Conference awards were announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon. The coaches also went on to choose Tabby Tindell as the Co-Preseason Player of the Year while Emma Blackwell earned Preseason Defensive Player of the Year honors and Brittany Brown was picked to repeat as Goalkeeper of the Year.

Earlier this week, AllWhiteKit.com, a blog that recognizes and promotes women's soccer around the world, released its NCAA - CoachRank Adjusted Rankings and listed FGCU head coach Jim Blankenship as the No. 10 coach in the nation. He is the highest ranked of any his peers in the Atlantic Sun and one of three coaches from the state of Florida to appear in the top 10 (2 - Florida State, 9 - Florida).

The Eagles continued their spring season with a 1-0 victory this past Sunday against Florida International University. The Eagles dominated play in the first half which created their game winning goal. After a hard tackle, Brittany Burt took the ball from FIU and blasted a shot past the goalie. The goal was her second goal of the spring season.

Kirsi Keenan was named the A-Sun defensive player of the week after her performance this past weekend. Keenan recorded a shutout against Belmont and was five minutes away from another against Lipscomb before being pulled late in the match as the Eagles won for the fifth time in their last six games.

The Florida Gulf Coast University womens soccer team used four goals to post a 4-0 win over A-Sun rival Lipscomb on Sunday afternoon at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex. This marked the third consecutive shutout and the eighth shutout of the season for the Eagles.

The Eagles recorded their seventh shutout with a 1-0 victory over Belmont (10-4-1, 4-3 A-Sun). With the win FGCU improved to 9-5 on the season, marking the 250th career victory for Head Coach Jim Blakenship.

FGCU (8-5, 4-2 A-Sun) will travel to Belmont (10-3-1, 4-2 A-Sun) on Friday, Oct. 19, at 7:30 p.m. The Eagles will then square off against Lipscomb (3-10-1, 1-4-1 A-Sun) on Sunday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m.
