After a stellar 6-3 Atlantic Sun conference record, the third-seeded FGCU women's tennis team is hoping to make a historic run in its first-ever A-Sun Tournament on Friday, April 20 in a quarterfinal match against sixth-seeded Jacksonville at 4 p.m. at the Buddy Hartsell Courts in Johnson City, Tenn.

The field has been set for the 2012 Atlantic Sun Conference Tennis Championships, which will take place April 20-22 in Johnson City, Tenn. The ETSU Buccaneers will play host for the championships.

The FGCU women's tennis team won every match in doubles and singles to sweep Atlantic Sun foe Belmont, 7-0, on Saturday at the Centennial Sportsplex.

The FGCU women's tennis team won the doubles point and won four singles matches to clinch its first-ever Atlantic Sun tournament berth against Lipscomb, 5-2 on Friday at Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center.

Needing one victory in the final two matches, the FGCU women's tennis team is hoping to clinch its first-ever berth into the Atlantic Sun Conference tournament this weekend. The Eagles head to Nashville to face Lipscomb on Friday, April 13 at the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center at 2 p.m. and finish against Belmont on Saturday at the Centennial Sportsplex at 9 a.m.

After falling behind 3-0 in the match, the FGCU women's tennis team rallied with four straight singles wins to pull off a comeback victory against Atlantic Sun rival Stetson, 4-3 on Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at the FGCU Tennis Complex.

In its final home Atlantic Sun conference match of the season, the FGCU women's tennis team is set to host rival Stetson on Senior Day and a non-conference match against Binghamton this weekend. The Eagles host the Hatters on Saturday, April 7 at 9 a.m. and finish against the Bearcats on Sunday at 2 p.m., both held at the FGCU Tennis Complex.
