FGCU Women's Tennis Falls to #3 Lynn

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Third-ranked Lynn University downed Florida Gulf Coast University 7-2 in women’s tennis Saturday afternoon in the season opening match for both teams. The Knights opened the match by sweeping all three doubles matches. The third-ranked tandem of Victoria Weltz and Andrea Kostricova knocked off the Eagles Jonalea Hileman (Fort Worth, TX) and Krista Polulak (Bradenton, FL) 8-5, while Masha Bayser and Dina Bajramovic blanked Angie Mykieta (Bremen, Germany) and freshman Brett Kinley (Delray Beach, FL) 8-0. Freshman Maria Testa Maggiorini (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and Stephanie Oldock (Naples, FL) lost 8-5 in the final doubles match to Dragana Ilic and Marie Maussion. In singles play, Testa Maggiorini at No. 2 and sophomore Lori Colby (Sarasota, FL) at No.6 picked up singles victories for the Eagles.
