FGCU Women's Tennis Tops Northwood

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Freshman Maria Maggiorini improved her dual match record to 5-0 to help lead the Florida Gulf Coast University women’s tennis team to a 7-2 win over Northwood University of Florida at the FGCU Tennis Complex Saturday afternoon. Maggiorini (Buenos Aires, Argentina) beat Melanie Roy, ranked 16th in NAIA, 6-2, 6-2. Senior Izabela Ciesinska (Mississauga, Ontario), sophomore Krista Polulak (Sarasota, FL), senior Angie Mykieta (Bremen, Germany) and sophomore Lori Colby (Sarasota, FL) all picked up singles wins for the Eagles, who have won four straight dual matches. Ciesinska and Hileman teamed up for a win in the No. 2 doubles position while Mykieta and freshman Brett Kinley (Boynton Beach, FL) won the No. 3 doubles match.
