No. 22 Women's Tennis Beats LaSalle

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The No. 22 Florida Gulf Coast University women’s tennis team shut out La Salle University 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon at the FGCU Tennis Complex. FGCU improves its record to five wins and one loss, with its fourth straight win. The Eagles’ top six players won all of their matches in singles play. Sophomore Brett Kinley (Boynton Beach, Fla) was victorious at No. 1 singles, as was freshman Joanne Power (Dublin, Ireland) at No. 2 singles. Senior Tenille Elias (Port of Spain, Trinidad) won easily at No. 3 singles. Senior Kristin Foelgner (St. Petersburg, Fla) dominated in her win at No. 4 singles, shutting out her opponent. Sophomore Maria Braniecka (Piotrowek, Poland) teamed up with junior Jonalea Hileman (Fort Worth, TX) for a win at No. 1 doubles. Junior Krista Polulak (Sarasota, Fla) along with sophomore Maria Maggiorini (Buenos Aires, Argentina) won at No. 2 doubles. Sophomore Lydia Diaz-Galindo (Seville, Spain) and senior Stephanie Oldock (Naples, Fla) won at No. 3 doubles, and also won at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively. FGCU (5-1) will host Toledo on Thursday, March 9.
