No. 21 Women's Tennis Blanks Lindenwood (Mo.)

By Chris Perry FORT MYERS, Fla. – The No. 21 ranked Florida Gulf Coast University women’s tennis team blanked the Lindenwood Lions 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon in Division II women’s tennis action at the FGCU Tennis Complex. FGCU improves to 10-4 in dual match play while Lindenwood falls to 4-5. Sophomore Maria Braniecka (Piotrowek, Poland) and junior Jonalea Hileman (Fort Worth, Texas), teamed up for an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles. Junior Krista Polulak (Sarasota, Fla.) and sophomore Maria Maggiorini (Buenos Aires, Argentina) were 8-1 victors at No. 2 doubles while sophomore Brett Kinley (Boynton Beach, Fla.) and Joanne Power (Dublin, Ireland) won 8-0 at No.3 doubles. In singles competition, Braniecka, ranked No. 48 in Division II singles, won in No. 1 singles over Liana Burrows. Maggiorini, Hileman, Galindo, Polulak and Power also won in straight sets.
