Tuesday, March 06, 2007

FORT MYERS, Fla., - The #15 Women's Tennis team suffered a 7-2 loss against Toledo on Tuesday afternoon. FGCU is now 4-2 on the year and both losses have come at the hand of Division I opponents.

The Rockets took two out of three doubles matches, taking a 2-1 lead into singles play. Toledo took the #1 and #2 singles points, as both matches went three sets. The Rockets would end up taking five of the six singles matches as well to earn a 7-2 win over the Eagles.

"We were not aggressive enough today," said Head Coach J. Webb Horton. "Toledo took momentum in the doubles while we dug a hole and lost a couple of tough matches. When you dig a hole against a team that good, it is tough to win. Toledo has a good team and hopefully we will learn from today."
