Women's Tennis Loses to Northwestern State, 5-2

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The FGCU women’s tennis team dropped to 0-5 on the season with a 5-2 loss to Northwestern State at the FGCU Tennis Complex on Saturday morning. The Demons took the doubles point with a sweep of all three doubles matches. In singles play, Heather St. John claimed a straight-set win over Dragana Colic at the #4 position, 6-2, 6-2. Eva Sambrano was also a winner for the Eagles, defeating Olga Bazhanova at the #2 slot, 4-6, 7-5, 11-9. Priscillia Villemond fell at the #1 position in a tight match, 6-4, 7-6 (10-7). The Demons took the other three singles matches, all in straight sets.
The Eagles will be back in action at the FGCU Tennis Complex on Monday morning at 10:00 AM against Bethune-Cookman University.
