FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Lady Eagles got off to a good start today when the team of Heather St. John and Leah Johnson clinched the doubles point at the #3 position 8-5 against the Bethune Cookman team of Musilova/Halkova.  It wasn't long before junior Eva Sambrano collected her second Division I singles win against Kalkova on court 2 with a score of 6-1, 6-0.  Junior Priscillia Villemond soon followed with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at #1 against Szaboova a hard hitting freshmen this year at BC.  Sophomore Leah Johnson clinched the match against Paez 6-3, 6-3 giving the Lady Eagle's their first win of the season and going up 4-2.  All eyes were on freshman walk-on Brittany Wadsworth as she battled at the #5 position pulling out a 6-3, 6-7 (10), 12-10 win against Jeuleice Ward making the final score 5-2 for the Eagles.  "I am very proud of the way our team fought today" said head coach Jennifer Gabou, " We have had some very close individual matches but for the whole team to show up and give it their all while pulling out the win is huge for this team."
