Macon, Ga. – The Lady Eagle tennis team took to the courts a day early this afternoon in Macon, Georgia, to compete against the Mercer Bears in a thrilling match where the Eagles landed on top 4-3.  The match was played a day early due to the threat of impending rain.  After losing the doubles point the Eagles rallied back at positions 1, 2, 4 with convincing straight set victories.  Yet again the match came down to freshmen Heather St. John's court where she pulled out the victory against Stephanie Cohen 6-4, 6-3.  "This was some of the best singles I've seen us play," said head coach Jennifer Gabou.  "For the team to come off of an 8-hour bus ride and pull out this win speaks to their fighting spirit."

The Eagles will face Kennesaw State University tomorrow afternoon, match time is TBD.
