Women's Tennis Caps Season with 5-2 Loss at Campbell

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The FGCU women’s tennis team wrapped up the 2009 season with a 5-2 loss at Campbell University on Wednesday afternoon.
In the doubles competition, Campbell got off to a good start, sweeping all three matches to pick up the doubles point. In singles play, FGCU picked up a couple of wins at the top, winning both the number one and number two position matches. Priscillia Villemond knocked off Blanca Saenz, 6-2, 7-5, at the number one slot, and Eva Sambrano defeated Ana Surviladze, 7-6, 6-4, at the number two position. The Camels won the other four singles matches, taking the dual match 5-2.
With the loss, the Eagles finish the year with a 3-7 record in conference play and a 6-16 record overall.
