Villemond and Leclercq Fall in First Round of ITA's

ATLANTA, Ga. – Priscillia Villemond and Farah Leclercq were both knocked out of the main draw of the 2009 Wilson/ITA Southeast Regional Championship. Both will now move on to the consolation draw, which begins play tomorrow. In doubles, the FGCU duo was ousted by a team from A-Sun rival Stetson in the first round.

In the first round of the main singles draw, Priscillia Villemond (Les Bordes, France) and Farah Leclercq (Ocala, Fla.) each lost in straight sets. Villemond was defeated by the tenth-seeded Diana Nakic of Georgia State, 6-0, 6-1, while Leclercq fell to South Florida’s Jessica Zok, 6-2, 6-1. In doubles, Villemond and Leclercq paired up and were knocked out in the first round by Stetson’s Shannon Gunning and Unnati Purushotham, 8-4.

Tomorrow both Villemond and Leclercq will participate in the singles consolation draw. Villemond will challenge Stetson’s Natilie Gorham and Leclercq will take on Florida International’s Priscilla Castillo.
