FGCU Women's Tennis Falls to Boston College, 5-2

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The FGCU women’s tennis team fell to Boston College 5-2 on Monday at the FGCU Tennis Complex. With the loss, the Eagles fall to 2-4, while BC improves to 5-5.

In doubles action, the team of Sweeting/Evans pulled out a thrilling 8-5 victory over Attwell/Delaney but Boston College captured the point winning on courts one and three.

In singles play, Priscillia Villemond (Les Bordes, France) improved her record to 6-0 on the season by defeating Olga Khymlev on court two 6-4, 6-2. Freshmen Melissa Narzissenfeld (Tampa, Fla.) beat out Ina Kauppila 6-4, 6-4 on court six, bringing her record to 3-0.

"Hats off to Boston College as they played well today" said head coach Jennifer Gabou. "We had a few opportunities across the board but came up short."

The Eagles will face Atlantic Sun foe North Florida on Thursday afternoon. The match is set to begin at 2:30 p.m. at the FGCU Tennis Complex. Admission is free to the public.
