Women's Tennis Completes Day One at Panther Invitational

MIAMI, Fla. – The FGCU women’s tennis team finished Day One at the Panthers Invitational in Miami on Friday afternoon. Junior Morgan Bechtel (Toledo, Ohio/St. Ursula Academy) partnering with sophomore Bettina Botha (Cape Town, South Africa/De Kuilen HS) in doubles fell 8-2 to North Florida’s Danielle Day and Melanie Aquirre.
Junior Morgan Bechtel (Toledo, Ohio/St. Ursula Academy) lost in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, to Giulietta Boha from FIU.
Sophomore Gyanna Mandic (Oshowa, Canada/Edison Academies) played the closest match of the day falling in straight sets to FIU’s Lisa Johnson, 6-3, 6-2.
The Tournament will continue tomorrow with doubles and singles matches against Barry University and North Florida.
