FGCU Women's Tennis Too Much for Saint Leo

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Florida Gulf Coast University women’s tennis team beat Saint Leo 8-1 Sunday afternoon in NCAA Division II tennis action. The Eagles swept the three doubles matches and the first five singles matches before the Lions picked up an injury default victory in the final singles match. Eagles freshman Maria Testa Maggiorini improved her dual match record to 2-0 this spring with a win at No.3 singles. Other singles winners included sophomore Jonalea Hileman (Fort Worth, TX), sophomore Krista Polulak (Bradenton, FL), junior Stephanie Oldock (Naples, FL) and freshman Brett Kinley (Delray Beach, FL). FGCU improves to 1-1 on the season while Saint Leo dropped to 0-2. The Eagles host Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, ranked sixth in NAIA, on Tuesday at noon in the home opener at the FGCU Tennis Complex. Singles competition 1. Jonalea Hileman (FGCU) def.
