Florida Southern Knocks off FGCU Women's Tennis

LAKELAND, Fla. – Florida Southern took four of the six singles matches and two of the three doubles matches Tuesday afternoon to defeat Florida Gulf Coast University, 6-3, in Lakeland. The Lady Mocs got two wins each from Linda Mrkic at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles, Barbara Oria at No. 2 singles and No. 3 doubles and Lara Alcobendas at No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles. FGCU senior Angie Mykieta (Bremen, Germany) and freshman Brett Kinley (Boynton Beach, FL) picked up singles victories while sophomores Jonalea Hileman (Fort Worth, TX) and Krista Polulak (Sarasota, FL) were victorious at No. 1 doubles. The Eagles (2-4) return to action on Thursday, March 3 at the FGCU Tennis Complex against Division I Seton Hall University. Singles competition 1. Linda Mrkic (FSC) def.
