FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Florida Gulf Coast University women’s tennis team blanked Lewis University 9-0 Friday afternoon at the FGCU Tennis Complex. The win snaps a three-match losing streak for the Eagles, now 3-5. The Eagles swept five singles matches and two doubles matches while picking up a pair of default victories. Freshman Maria Maggiorini (Buenes Aires, Argentina), sophomore Jonalea Hileman (Fort Worth, TX), sophomore Krista Polulak (Sarasota, FL) and senior Izzy Ciensinska (Mississauga, Ontario) all were double winners for FGCU. All four won singles matches while Maggiorini and Polulak won at No. 1 doubles. Hileman and Ciensinska teamed up for a win at No. 2 doubles. Other winners included senior Angie Mykieta (Bremen, Germany) and freshman Lesley Anne Passolt (Plymouth, MN) at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
