FGCU Women's Tennis beats Southern Nazarene

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University won five singles matches and two doubles matches to beat Southern Nazarene 7-2 in women’s college tennis play at the FGCU Tennis Complex on Tuesday afternoon. Three players picked up two wins each for the Eagles. Sophomore Jonalea Hileman (Fort Worth, TX) and senior Izabela Ciesinska (Mississauga, Ontario), picked up wins at No. 2 doubles and No. 2 and No. 3 singles respectively. Freshman Lesley Anne Passolt (Plymouth, MN) added wins at No. 6 singles and teamed with sophomore Krista Polulak (Sarasota, FL) for a win at No. 3 doubles. Senior Angie Mykieta (Bremen, Germany) picked up a straight set victory at No. 4 singles while sophomore Lori Colby (Sarasota, FL) also picked up a straight set win at No. 6 singles. FGCU (7-5), which has now won five consecutive matches, will host 2nd-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State University and 24th-ranked University of Indianapolis on Friday at the FGCU Tennis Complex.
