Women's Tennis Falls to Conference Rival Stetson

Fort Myers, Fla.- The FGCU women’s tennis team fell to 1-3 after dropping their Atlantic Sun opener to the Hatters of Stetson University. Stetson improves to 1-3 and 1-0 in the A-Sun.

The Eagles were able to win the first doubles match by a score of 8-3. The Eagles were led Maria Braniceka and Jordan Vaughn. Stetson clinched the second and third doubles points by scorers of 8-6 and 8-1 respectively. Vaughn was once again successful in singles competition winning at the #4 singles position over Natalie Gorham 6-3, 6-3. The Hatters were able to sweep the rest of the singles winning four of the five in straight sets. Braniecka fell at the #1 position 7-5, 3-6, 10-6.

The Eagles will be in action February 28th when they host A-Sun foe Campbell.
