Pair of Eagles Selected to Participate in ITA Southeast Regionals

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The ITA has announced the participants for the 2009 ITA Regional tournaments, and two FGCU Eagles have been selected to play in the ITA Southeast Regional tournament. Senior Priscillia Villemond was selected for the main draw while freshman Farah Leclercq will compete in the qualifying tournament. Also, the two will pair up to participate as a doubles tandem in the main draw.

The tournament will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, with Georgia Tech serving as the host institution. Many of the elite programs from throughout the southeastern United States will be represented, including the University of Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, and Georgia Tech, among others. Head coach Jennifer Gabou talked about this great opportunity for her two athletes, saying, “I am extremely excited for Farah and Prisci. They will represent FGCU well against some of the top teams in the country.” The tournament begins on October 22nd, with the qualifying draw starting that day, and the main draw competition beginning on October 23rd.
