FORT MYERS, Fla. – The FGCU women's tennis team was defeated by Furman University, 5-2, in a five-hour marathon match at the FGCU Tennis Complex. With the loss, the Eagles fall to 4-7 on the season, while the Paladins improve to 6-5.

The Blue and Green won the doubles point at positions one and two before losing five of the six singles matches. Four out of the six courts were decided in the third set with freshmen Melissa Narzissenfeld (Tampa, Fla.) picking up FGCU’s second point with a win over Michele Stanford, 4-6, 6-1, 6-0, at position No. 4.
